Me and my turkey challah (shape, not flavor) from Thanksgiving 2012. Flavor was actually cornbread.

I’m a web designer in the Los Angeles area who took up challah baking as a Friday-morning hobby.  Over the course of 2010 I became increasingly interested in figuring out why the only challahs we ever really see are plain, raisin, chocolate chip and whole wheat.  Why don’t they make more varieties?

Well, I’m going to do just that.  Each week I want to try a different challah variation.  Pumpkin in autumn? Peppermint in winter?  Chocolate for Valentines Day? Thin Mint when Girl Scout Cookies come out? Some will work, some will be terrible.  But it’ll be fun either way.

Along the way, I’ll also make a few challahs available for you to try at home.  If you’d like to make a special order, or reserve one of the challahs of the week, please email me at Ben@adventuresinchallah.com and we’ll see what I can do.

And here’s some news — I just got my real estate license!  If you’re looking for a realtor in Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Van Nuys (pretty much anywhere in the LA area), Im your man!

Enjoy!
